From the looks of things, it REALLY doesn’t seem like 3.0.8 was ready for prime time. Need some examples? Well, let’s take a look at some of the most obvious ones.
For us Hunter’s the initial one is was mentioned by Ghostcrawler over in the Damage Dealing Forums (source)
Hunter Aspects on GCD
Now this was suppose to be one of the bright spots in this patch for us hunters. Besides the amazing increase to Damage for Survival Hunters, we could finally bounce between aspects. If you don’t think this is much of an issue, then try running without your Ret Pally friend, then come back to me. Also, for Arena Junkies. Bouncing between Aspects is one of the bonuses.
But like I said, at least it’s a known one and already getting addressed.
There is a known issue in 3.0.8 where some Aspects behave as if they still have a global cooldown. The design is that Hunter Aspects should not be on the GCD. We are investigating and will try to get this fixed as soon as we can. – Ghostcrawler
Arena’s Are Down
Oh!!! Did I mention that Arena’s are down? Yep, according they’re down and we don’t know for how long. (Source)
We have temporarily disabled all Arena matches while we investigate current rating calculation discrepancies. Further updates will be provided once we have additional information to share.- Nethaera
So, I guess that the Aspect Dance won’t affect you Arena Junkies as much as originally thought. (Yes, sarcasm.. can’t help it.)
Many of you know my opinion of Arena. Make it a seperate Server. Those that want to Arena can use the Arena server. If it’s a leveling issue, well they’ve already proven that they can skip that (/cough Death Knights anyone???)
And as with normal servers and the current system. Allow gear to be progressed as your rankings increase. Hop on, fight it out. Depending on your rank and the outcome of the match you get paid your gold and that can be used to get training, gear, enhancements, etc.. And think about it? If Blizzard REALLY wants to make it an e-sport, what better way.
And if creating a new server is too difficult? Well, then at the very least make it a reason to join a PvP Server. I mean, most of the PvP Players I know use Arena and BG’s as gear augmentation for running around doing quests or getting from zone to zone anyways. Without the resilience, they just get slaughtered by those PvPers that do use the Arena or BGs. You just can’t survive without it or at the least being in T7+ gear.
But I digress.. Yes arena’s are broken. For you Arena Junkies I hope you get it back soon. I know you need your fix.
For everyone else.. There’s more problems…
For example over on WoWInsider, they did a Bug Roundup and mentioned a few others that may have an effect on us, like:
Animation Clipping
This might not sound bad, but hey.. if your like me clipping animation can give you fits thinking its lag, graphic card issues or a number of different things. Good thing they recognize it’s an issue.
Missing Mail
WHAT!?!? Again with the missing mail? Come on guys? How does all these patches impact the tables where mail is stored??? Oh that’s right, it’s probably not that simple right? I mean why use a database to track a few columns Realm, Faction, From, To, Atachment ID1….. Guess that would just be too difficult.
(Yes.. I know major amounts of sarcasm there.)
Ritual of Summoning
Yes, this is a Lock issue… but for you raiders, how many times do you ask your lock to help summon players to those 25 man Naxx runs. Especially, if your already in it and just want to keep going. I mean really, who wants to run back out to the stone for a replacement.
So.. After these and others I see being listed, I ask you.. Was 3.0.8 Ready? And if not, is this what we have to look forward to 3.1???
