Announcement: New Hunter DPS Spreadsheet Released

Wertez has announced that another release of the Hunter DPS Spreadsheet is now available for you to download. (Source – Download).

I am again pleased to announce a new release of The Hunting Lodge DPS Spreadsheet. A lot of work went into the back-office programming for this release to satisfy our customer’s biggest issue – gear.

Thanks to an ingenious application by Indora of Cheeky’s original armory scrap code, we can now pull in armor and weapons you have equipped into the spreadsheet’s gear list. No more missing items!

There are a couple limitations with the code, by no fault of ours. Yes, I’m blaming Blizz.

1. There is currently no way to get the socket bonuses imported.Therefore, for any new gear you will not see the socket bonus.  Please use the blue row at the bottom of the gear list to manually add any socket bonuses you have from new gear pieces. Gear that we have loaded into the spreadsheet manually does have socket bonuses calculated and you will not have to manually adjust the stat.
2. Trinkets do not import.  The stats for trinkets are so wide and varied that there is no programmatical consistency to be able to write code to bring it into a spreadsheet-type list.  Also, we have to manually calculate any on-proc effects.

But other than that, you should not have any problems with gear being loaded from your armory profile.

Because gear will autoload, I took the liberty of reducing the footprint of the file, making downloading and calculations quicker.  I purged all gear from the spreadsheet and only reimported “HUNTER” gear: (mail, above level 72, with agi & sta & int > 0).  I took out all ranged weapons below a 93 DPS (Crossbow of Relentless Strikes).  I also purged all melee stat sticks and only imported melee weapons above level 72 that has +agi on it.

So now your gear will load and you can find your DPS.

You can change talents, glyphs, and buffs to see how your DPS changes.  But what if you want to try on a different piece of gear?  The pop-down menu selections are still in the gear tab.  If the piece of gear you want to wear is no longer in the spreadsheet (pull-down list), use the Item Load function at the top right of the gear tab.  Type in the item ID number and click the button.  That gear piece will be loaded and available for selection.  I must again mention that socket bonuses will not be imported.  You must add those stats manually in the blue row at the bottom of the gear tab.

There are some other miscellaneous changes on the front end, mainly with the Input tab and food/elixirs.

If you get the message box that states new gear has been added, please inform us here at The Hunting Lodge forums so we can get the gear added to the released version of the spreadsheet, including all socket bonuses (and trinkets).
