Hunters Macros – Are They Good For Anything?

That’s a funny question. The easy answer is, “But of course!”, but after a second thought, if we don’t use them for Shot Rotations anymore, then are they?  Again, I say ”But of course!”

This a’l started earlier today I got asked by my friend, Mohalon.  Mo asked,  ”I was looking to tweak my simple hunty macro, do you use any? I just want to add /concussive shot but it won’t work.”

I thought about it and asked what he was trying to do. After checking his macro realized the macro fell to the dreaded Global Cool Down. (bane to many a good macros!)

When I said I don’t use macros for my Shot Rotation, that lead to the next question. “What do you use macros for then?” And you’re probably thinking, “YEAH! What use ARE macros for Hunters now!”

Well, glad you asked. We can use them to help streamline tasks. Now I’m not a macro guru. (That’s Zurom) But I do use some simple macros that help me with things like Pet and Agro management, as well as other quick keybinding actions. Here’s just a few I found helpful. You can modify these to do even more but I’ll keep them basic for now.

Save Me (My Oh Crap! Soloing Macro Must be BM)

/petattack [target=target]
/cast Disengage
/cast [target=target] Intimidation
/cast Feign Death

Don’t Die (My Oh Crap! The pet is gonna bite it Macro)

/cast Mend Pet
/use [target=Pet] Dense Frostweave Bandages

Feed Pet (I hate having to click twice to feed Elvis can use any food of choice)

/cast Feed Pet
/use Shoveltusk Steak

Heads Up (Yes I know just use Simple MD or some other Addon but I try not to.Make sure to set the Main Tank as your focus. Using Shift makes it use the mouse over, otherwise your focus.)

/cast [mod:shift target=mouseover, focus] Misdirection

Sleepy Time (Only can be used on Mobs that Tranquilizing Shot works on)

/cast [target=mouseover] Tranquilizing Shot

Go Fetch (Pet attack a double tap macro)

/petattack [target=target]
/castsequence Hunters Mark, Serpents Sting

Say Hello To My Little Friend (Okay not really but I hate saying the I-Win Macro. Also, 13 and 14 are your Trinket slots.)

/cast Bestial Wrath
/cast Kill Command
/use 13
/use 14
/cast Rapid Fire
