Why can’t Hunters tame Feral Druids

newtaurencatReally the title of the post says it all.  I want to tame Feral Druids.  Now before all you tree huggin, ugly shape shifting, Moonfire spamming Boom Chickens get yor feathers ruffled, just hold on a bit.

I’m not talking about going out there and talking about having Humanoids walking side by side. And no, this has nothing to do with the whole Worgen controversy.  This is more about having Blizzard give Hunters a bit more utility in the game.

First let’s understand something.  Feral Druids show up as Beasts in our tracking.  Add to that we can use Scare Beast to get shoo them away.  Before the change, during PvP battles we would Track Beast and even receive the added Tracking Damage bonus.   But what we can’t do is tame them.  Why not?  We Hunters are the masters of taming the wild are we not?

Now before I get a ton of hate mail about human rights or how unfair that would be to players to lose control of their characters let me say two words, Mind Control.  Yep, you know that little mechanism in the game where priests go and make Humanoids do their bidding?  Oh sure, no one raises an objection about Priests going out of their way to take over someone and put them in harms way.  Nope, not at all.

And what about Warlocks with their ability to enslave Demons?  Okay, granted no one thinks Demons as Humanoids, but the concept is still there is it not?

So why can’t Hunters have the ability to temporary tame a Feral Druid have it under Mind Control for 10-20 seconds?  Imagine having a Druid pet that’s special attack is maybe Moonfire?  Heck? What if we just kept the base attacks but for 20 seconds we could have 2 pets running around causing mass carnage!  (Yes, I understand right now the mechanics only allow for one pet at a time, but a Hunter can dream can’t he?”)

Well, what do you think? Should Hunter’s be able to tame Druids? Would there be a difference between that and Mind Control?  Let’s hear it!
