We’re Back – And setting up shop

That’s right folks. I’m back. It might seem to some of you that I never really left. Well I did.

I did this little stint working for WoW.com. And all I can say is it was one of the most awesome experiences of my life. Having the opportunity of writing for WoW.com was truly a dream come true. I learned a lot and have nothing but the upmost respect and affection for everyone over at WoW.com. They really are a top notch shop and deserve all the accolades they get and none of the trolls.

Anyways, today was my last post for WoW.com. Nothing bad, just a parting of ways. And now I get to spend more time focusing on the Lodge.

Looking around it seems there’s a lot that needs fixed. Man, I let this place go. *trys to rehang a piece of wallpaper*

Anyways, now that I’m back we’re gonna get the Lodge back up to speed, but we’re also going to have some changes nothing drastic just a few little things.

Name Change

First, you’ll notice a shift away from publishing as Brigwyn and more writing as Eddie. This is so I can start to seperate the Brigwyn persona from me the writer. I guess call it a learning and growing up experience.

Hunter Guides

Second, I’m going to spend some time updating the guides. I have some time, so I can get the guides updated. Don’t expect a miracle but we’ll learn form doing the Scattered Shots leveling guides over on WoW.com and apply them here at the Lodge. We’ll also be creating some class guides to go along with those.

Now don’t expect these overnight, but the’ll be showing up over time.

20 Questions

I have a brand new 20 Questions interview that should be out this weekend. I’m hoping to get back on the WoW interview train and we’ll see some more of these hitting the blog. Here’s the thing. 20 Questions is going to always remain a written interview. But I’m hoping to get it to be a little more dynamic. Maybe through IM or transcription. But it will always be pretty much focused on WoW.

The Hunting Lodge Podcast

THL Podcast is now a regular stable here at the Lodge. But we’ll be making some changes to the site in an effort to help you find it better. Not only that, now that we’re a part of GSN you’ll see some sponsor ads that we hope you’ll select.

Site Changes

Not right away, but yeah, we’ll finish up these site changes that’s been happening here. I really love the graphics Kelly “Nassira” Flood so graciously donated so I want to continue using them. But we need to finish up some things. Like fixing links, adding back pages and pages of content. Color’s a ton of stuff. This really probably should be the first thing I do, but it’s so much work it’ll just have to happen over time.

The Hunting Lodge Forums

Okay folks, The Hunting Lodge Forums need some help. By help I mean participation. You guys need to let me know if this is something we should keep or not. I love the Lodge Forums and it has a very special place in my heart, but I’m not so sure it really works anymore. Traffic is way down, so are new registrations. So this is in the TBD bucket at the moment. If you think they should stay then you better let me know.

The Hunting Lodge Store

We’ve been asked to create a Hunting Lodge store.  Well, that’s in the works.  As part of GSN we’re going to create a store with merchandise that you can get.  So here we go, we’ll get it up an running.  I can’t promise to have it up and running in time for Christmas, but we’ll see what we can do.

Brig’s World
If you’re asking what the heck is Brig’s world? Well, this is where Brigwyn the character gets to go play. The only drawback is you’ll need to subscribe to read them. They’re no cost, but Brig has a tendency of being a bit NSFW. This way, you’ll know what you’re getting.

The Hunting Lodge e-mail Newsletter

Free to you. (Yeah, no cost here but just thinking..) This will be monthly newsletter that highlights hunter news, tips, tricks add-ons.  Podcast moments and highlights. You name it, what ever I can cram into an email you get it.  All you have to do is ask.  So stay tuned, we’ll post more information about this later.

Eddie “Brigwyn” Carrington has played a hunter almost exclusively for the almost 5 years. During that time he created The Hunting Lodge. The Hunting Lodge has grown from a blog to now a hunter community with a blog, forums, and podcast.
